most bang for the buck
Strengths: crisp, clean sound, wired remote, easy to set-up, attractive design
Weakness: lots of cords/wires, sometimes bass is too powerful
I am not an audiophile but I am a lover of music and I thought it was time to do justice to my music & myself and buy some real speakers rather than rely on my tinny laptop speakers. I did a little research on speakers and this system seemed to pack the most bang for the buck, offering features of systems priced hundreds of dollars more. Overall, I've been really satisfied. It was a breeze to set...

Strengths: Good sound and a great value, especially at $100.
Weakness: Boomy subwoofer, RCA-based cable system.
A solid 5.1 system with much to offer. The speakers are fairly directional, but that seems common in the desktop-realm, where you have 5 speakers within arm's reach. It isn't a downside, however, and makes these very appropriate for games. The controller works well, although sometimes one must turn it off to plug in headphones to get it to turn the speakers off. The bass is boomy, however; it...

Strengths: Nice, crisp sound when playing both DVD movies and music.
Weakness: Huge subwoofer takes up a lot of space. No mute button on remote.
I had the Logitech Z-640's previously and the Z-5300e offers a noticeably superior sound experience. I have watched DVDs and listened to music with these speakers attached to the Soundstorm on my Abit NF7-S speakers and the sound is wonderful. The remote control is nice, though a wireless remote might be nicer. At least this way I won't misplace the remote! It would be nice if they put a mute...

Strengths: Sounds Wonderful, Gets Very Loud, Excellent Subwoofer
Weakness: Short speaker cables, a little expensive, and the sub can be too strong at times, but can be adjusted.
Overall, I've been pleased with my Logitech Z-5300e speakers. They produce clear loud sound, which I can here everywhere in the house, and sound better than my previous speakers, a set of Labtec Pulse 424's (Great speakers for the cost, shame they're mot made any more). Having surround sounds for movies is great, and the subwoofer is a beast, putting out lots of bass. Sometimes the bass can be a...

I would definitely recommend this...
Strengths: Strong bass and very little distortion at high volumes. Ability to easily customize the various qualities.
Weakness: Large subwoofer makes storage a little uneasy.
I would definitely recommend this product. It's great for all sounds I've encountered and easily hooks up to my gaming system (Xbox). Great value for the money.
