Vista 64 Bit Premium is a breeze!!

Strengths: This is awesome! I installed it on the first try, all my hardware worked. The Aero interface is newest cool thing. I am very happy with my purchase.

Weakness: Need lots of RAM. I have heard of some compatibility issues, but I think that maybe those users don't have the latest and greatest hardware.

I installed this in about 40 minutes and was up and running. I have the following hardware: AMD FX-62 Processor 4 GB DDR2-800 Ram Seagate SATA 3.0 Raid 0 Configuration NVIDIA 7300 GT Video I have to say that my only weakness is the video. I am still able to achieve a 4.8 Windows Experience. The only reason for that low is the video, otherwise it would be a 5.3 which is what my processor rates,...

Nice visual improvements, not to mention security and Direct X 10!

Strengths: Areo and other visual effects, itunes-like searches in opened windows (really nice), and direct X 10 for future gaming!

Weakness: This is new, so there are a few bugs and conflicts with older software (and with "non 64-bit compliant software).

Pretty solid new OS with potential with the future. Give this baby one more year for Microsoft to fix out it's few bugs and you've got yourself a great, high-tech, future OS.

Windows Vista Home Premium

Strengths: Aero is nice, security is improved, speed increase etc.

Weakness: Had to reinstall it. After the first install it kept crashing. Reinstalled everything has been running smooth for a week now. Lack of Vista supported drivers for most hardware.

Good so far. As with every new O.S. their are going to be some initial problems. But five years of work should have put out so more new options. Just looks like the same windows to mean with better graphics, and security.

Vista has bugs

Strengths: Could have a future if it gets fixed.

Weakness: Lack of drivers for cameras, printers etc.

Xp runs all my devices. 64 bit Vista does not have a driver to download photos from a brand new Canon rebel EOS Camera. If Microsoft would go back to XP and keep it updated they would be going forward instead of backwards. I also have had to reinstall Vista twice due to corruption issues. Computer is new and it hangs up frequently.

Vista Is Awesome!!

Strengths: Easy to install Nifty new interface Fast Fixes itself Downloads update when necessary

Weakness: Slow if you don't have enough RAM Difficult to install if you have old hardware

I know there have been mixed reactions to Vista. I did not have any difficulties whatsoever. It installed in about 30 minutes on a freshly formatted RAID array. It recognized my hardware and downloaded the appropriate drivers. After installation, it downloaded more updates and then it was through. I have relatively new hardware and it was no problem for me. I probably would not recommend it for...
