Great MOBO! Stable Overclocking! DDR 2 Recomendations

Strengths: This board is sooo easy to overclock and is as stable as the rock of Gibralter!

Weakness: Haven't found any although some have said the it's picky with the DDR 2 but I can give some help with that.

I own two of these and have built four more so far for customers. I have used A-Data 2X1GB two pair for a total of 4GB ADQVE1A16K, Corsair Twin2X4096-6400C5DHX dual 2GB sticks and OCZ Platinum Revison 2X1GB two pair and these have all run great from the getgo, are stable even overclocked! If anyone is worried about what ram to use, these work, no problem!

Great Motherboard!

Strengths: 6 SATA-II and one external SATA-II. SLI is great with my dual MSI-7600GT video cards, 8GB RAM support, onboard digital audio with SPDIF and Optical audio out., 6 USB, Dual Gbit LAN.

Weakness: CMOS Battery could have a better location. It is located under the second video card if you use SLI with large video cards. Have to remove bottom card to reset CMOS via jumper or taking out battery.

This is a great motherboard. Awesome overclocking features and performance for the price, it's the best. Great Linux board

Strengths: Great manual, quick connects, highly configurable, great overclocking features.

Weakness: None.

This is my first build and this board made it very easy. I stuck it in an Antec P150 mid-tower case (which I really like) and put an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Dual Core processor on it. The processor went right on with ease, heat sink & fan just as easy, all the connections were a snap. I think I had about 3 hours of build time but that's because this was my first build. The board itself mounted in...

Nice Board

Strengths: 2 PCI(E) slots for SLI, Max of 8GB Ram, 6 SATA ports, Digital Onbaord Audio, 8 USB Ports. So many nice things for the money.

Weakness: Not all DDR2 modules work on the board. 1 IDE slot, a shame. As mentioned in other reviews, only 3 PCI slots but most everything is built in.

I snagged some Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 and it works great. Seriously do some research to make sure that the ram you want works on the board. Otherwise, it sounds like this is hit or miss. Getting the board in and set up was a cinch. The manual was thorough and helping me get this set up, especially as this was my first build. The Q-connectors make plugging in leds and the power switch a piece of...

Problems with some DDR2 memory modules

Strengths: A lot of features for the money. Built-in sound card, support for PCI-Express, SLI ready (supports 2 nVidia video cards at the same time). Support for up to 6 SATA-II drives, non-RAID or RAID.

Weakness: Very picky on the memory modules used. Only one IDE channel.

Overall the board is good, but be VERY wary about the DDR2 memory modules you purchase for this board. Only purchase modules that are ASUS approved (see their website), or you'll find that they may not work. If you do purchase non-approved memory, you will have to slow down the memory settings in BIOS for the computer to even get past POST testing. Large USB transfers may cause Windows XP to blue...
