The Altec Lansing FX6021 with InConcert technology is a 3-piece system for the music, gaming, or home theater enthusiast. A revolution in pro audio, InConcert technology enables the FX6021 to deliver crisp, clean, full-volume sound that feels like its being directed right at you. InConcert Technology directs the sound straight ahead and to the sides, not up and down. So the sound is pure and clean, uncluttered by reflections from the ceiling or floor. Two ultra-slim satellites feature a total of twelve 1 inch neodymium micro drivers, with each pair of micro drivers powered by its own discrete amplifier. A 6.5 inch ported subwoofer completes the sound with low-frequency, full-throated bass.

FX6021 2.1 Speaker System (75 Watts)
Strengths: Great sound, great style, unbeatable price, compact design, and remote control for sound!
Weakness: Remote control needs some improvement, a little difficult to control the volume due to the range in pushing the button, it reduces or increases the sound too rapidly.

Altec Lansing has been one of my favorite electronic brands companies for many years, they are competitive in the marketplace and have many years of high quality products with a impressive reputation that followed. I would buy this same system again for another Home Theater System. They also have a great Customer Service Department that is courteous and is dedicated to helping customers that have purchased their products. I love my 3 piece speakers system and the quality of the sound that it produces. Need I say more, no regrets at all! I reduced the star rating by one due to the remote control, there should be a half star making it 4.5 stars! But, I am certain a remote may be available for the same system so the problem could be easily solved.

I concider my self an audiophile....
Strengths: Sound quality very good for the money!
I concider my self an audiophile. I've been into audio equipment for about 25 years. Considering price i'm pleased with sound quality of this item, I was alittle concerned with the reviews i came across most complaints were about bass response being on the weak side i think it's adequate, Even at $300.00 Retail I would concider it a good buy!

The overall best 2.1 computer speakers you can buy, period.
Strengths: Sound, looks, price.
Weakness: Analog only (no S/DIF jack).
Altec Lansing seems to be one of the most underrated and under appreciated speaker manufacturers around (at least when it comes to computer speakers that is). I first discovered Altec Lansing decades ago. Their professional model speakers were very common in nightclubs. My first personal experience with their speakers was in 1999.
I purchased a computer and was offered several choices of speakers. I settled on Altec Lansing ADA-880s and I was thrilled with the sound quality. They are a 2.1 setup too, but not terribly attractive.
I finally gave them up in April 2006 (15 months after I bought my latest computer), mostly because their old-fashioned beige just didn't fit in with the rest of my computer and peripheral setup.
It was a hard decision because the old ones sounded so great.
After a lot of research I wound up buying Altec Lansing again. If you're not a gamer that requires wall-crumbling bass, 5.1 or 7.1 speakers, these babies fill the bill.
That is pretty much me, hence the purchase.
The sound is incredible. The bass doesn't have quite the punch of my old speakers, but it still has enough to annoy the neighbors. That's all I need. I've never had the freedom of living somewhere that didn't't have neighbors on the other side of one of my walls.
Where these babies really shine is in the highs. They are beautiful. Crisp and clean. And the design can immerse you in that sound if you have them close to where you're sitting. I have one standing on each side of my monitor and being that they each have 6 drivers and are over 12" tall, they do one heck of a job of surrounding you with sound (well as good as any 2.1 speakers can, that is). Get some DSP action going with you're sound card and you are really in for a treat.
I listen to a wide variety of music (R&B, Hip Hop, Light Rock, Jazz, Classical, Pop and Showtunes) and it all sound great on these speakers.
By the way, I can honestly say that the bass will drive the neighbors nuts if you crank the volume. The hip hop tunes I've played so far prove my point. :-)
And the icing on the cake is these speakers look as good as they sound. The aluminum look is very stylish. The speakrs are wall mounted but I think they look much better on the stands. It's a very unusual look.
I also have an aluminum case on my computer and a silver front bezel on my LCD Monitor and the speakers and wired remote look great alongside them.
The combination of looks an sound is unbeatable. I looked at top of the line 2.1 speakers from Bose, Creative, Klipsch and Logitech. The Logitech speakers got excellent reviews. These Altec Lansing FX601s were all but ignored by many major review sites.
But I digress...
The bottom line is, I made the right decision.

Best of the best, fx6021 + sound...
Strengths: crisp, acoustic, strong, wide-range sound
Weakness: bass is not very excellent when playing some songs such as "Without me (eminem)"
Best of the best, fx6021 + sound card on my laptop completely beat Creative T7700 + audigy 2 ZS. This 2.1 sounds fantastic and acoustic.
This is really a high-end stereo speaker.

Altec Lansing FX 6021 2.1 Speaker System
Altec Lansing has become a major contender in the audio system industry. Not known for their expensive systems, but rather cheaper and more affordable systems, Altec Lansing has dished up quite a pocket gouger. With the MSRP at $300, the FX6021 2.1 system looks to be a leap into the higher end market. Find out if they are worth the big bucks in our review.
