I purchased a refurbished netbook described as having 8 hours of battery life and that had met the "same quality standards as required for brand-new manufacturer products." After charging overnight the battery meter said 100% at 3 hours of battery life, even after turning on battery saver mode. I called customer service and was on the phone with them for almost an hour, on hold most of the time. I described the issue multiple times and was transferred multiple times. They asked if I what I was doing with the netbook and if I was watching DVDs on it. This netbook has no disc drive. When I asked for an exchange I was told I would be charged a 15% restocking fee for "buyer's remorse" and there was no guarantee that the next product I received would have the promised battery life. At that point I asked for a refund and said that the item was not as advertised, this was NOT buyer's remorse. |

I have ordered 2 times from ecost. First time took nearly 2 weeks to arrive. Second time. Never shipped after 2 weeks. Called and after 50 minutes got a response saying I never ordered even though I read confirmation email. Was told no supervisors available would look into it. Next day called and told again no supervisors and no other info. 3rd day called in early evening was lied to saying dont have supervisors on duty at night and could ask for call back but would get none. 5th day finally got a supervisor at 76 minutes. Promised to find out what happened, would get it shipped overnight and would call back. He gave me a bogus direct phone line that was general info line and never called back. Finally next day got generic email saying order canceled. Waited 4 weeks for a gift for my niece and then got nothing. WORST customer service ever, agents lied about if supervisors not working. I have purchased with ecost before and went to them when I was looking for a pico projector. Their price was low, and prior experience told me that the shipping was fast and reasonable. The projector arrived quickly, but alas, the HDMI port did not function. I called up customer service and they told me that I would have to speak to the manufacturer and get a 5 digit claim# first. I then called up the manufacturer and after some trouble shooting confirmed it was a bad port although he had no idea what I was talking about with a five digit claim#. I called ecost back, told them about my call and they said they were sending the RMA to me, but first I would have to order another one and they wouldn't bill me if they got the other back. STAY AWAY FROM eCOST.COM!!! Worst ever etailer. A burglar is better. After 45 minutes calling, waiting ,talking to them to verify they had stock and would deliver to me, I placed an order within 5 min. With no consent or intimation to me, they sneakily marked it as a back-order. After another 45 minute phone call (preceded by an uninformative 30 minute session), was told they were out of stock; the backorder wait was 6 TO 8 WEEKS, because their alternate supplier wouldn't deliver to states like Pennsylvania, Ohio etc. My fault, living there. No resolution was available. I had to wait, as they had the money. Several emails yielded nothing, despite their promise to resolve within 24 hours, and I said I would review here. They really don't care anymore. Their call center staff are the worst- incomprehensible, rude and arrogant that they are located far away in a foreign country. Don't ever buy from e-cost. I have never written a review before, but this time I feel that It's my duty to do so. What a horrible, frustrating experience I'm having with e-cost! I stayed up late on Black Friday to buy some of their products... but because it was already 3 am and my connection was not as good because I was out of town. I clicked on my old office address for shipping. Emailed Ecost 2 minutes after when I realized it. Never got a response.sent a second e-mail a day 2 days after as a follow up. No response, updates. Everytime I get a chance to call they are either still close or already closed. Finally, I saw online that there was a tracking number on my order. Tried to call Ecost and they, I was told they can't change the shipping address on their end. Called USPS and was told that it only has to be the shipper that can change the shipping address, that there is still time to change it because the product is not scheduled to arrive until 4 days later. Ordered item on 1/8, credit card charged and shipping confirmation received on 1/11. It is now 1/25 and still haven't received the item. I called customer service on 1/21, they conferenced me with ups who assured us that delivery would be made on 1/22, it wasn't. the tracking information shows that the item was delivered on 1/15 to a town that does not even exist. Ecosts response? wait till 2/03 to see if item is delivered!?!?!?!? are you f-n kidding me? In a nutshell, ecost is an absolutely horrendous company to try and do business with. they were very quick to take my money, but after 17 days of waiting for a product to be delivered from GA to NY (14 hour drive) all i have received is a $120 charge on my credit card. my hatred grows for them every day. All i want now is my money back, but guess what, that's not so easy when your dealing with ecost. i have opened a claim with paypal if that doesn't work i'll have my credit card charge it back. I will never, ever, deal with them again. |

Ecost.com sucks. I bought two digital photo frames for Christmas and wanted to upload photos to frame prior to giving them for gifts. One work great and the other would not stay on unless you held the power button. I called Ecost.com a couple days after Christmas and two weeks later and my fourth call attempt no RMA # to return this piece of crap. I’ve spent too much time dealing with a $32 piece of junk that is now $27 and I will not be refunded the massive shipping and handling cost. I used to buy from Ecost.com a few years ago, because the S&H cost were great and I would recommend it to all of friends and employees. The customer service representatives were nice, but the customer service SUCKS. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. KICK ROCKS!! If you are still giving me the excuse of the Christmas rush…it’s safe to say that this company sell a lot of “refurbished/remanufactured junk”

I was in the market for a new netbook and I already had a few positive purchases from Ecost.com, I looked at a netbook that was posted on the website as being instock and I purchased that item with a Paypal transaction. Being that I purchase most of my big ticket items online (btw i have not had a problem until now) I checked the status of the transaction later that day. I found that the netbook was on backorder and a sleeve for that item was in the processed. So I looked into the process for back ordering and realized that the item may never be "in stock" again. So I called the 877 number and had my transaction canceled. I received a cancelation email. I checked my Paypal account and found that Ecost had not released the funds. Called again and no responce. Still waiting for funds to be released. NOT HAPPY |

Do not deal with this deceptive company. I attempted to order a monitor from them and after going through the entire order process I received a notification of "This offer is no longer available". At that time I went elsewhere and bought a monitor. 10 days later I received a shipment from eCost of a heavily scratched monitor (scratch is over 3 inches long and very deep). I contacted the eCost customer service center and was told "the offer said open box, that means it will have scratches". Explaining the issue with the order (that I didn't even want it after being told it was not available, and discussing whether a significant scarring on the monitor screen is even ethically the same as "some minor scratching" I was told "So sorry, thanks for calling". Do NOT deal with this deceptive and dishonest company. I did and was cheated out of a couple hundred dollars. |

VERY DISSATISFIED
I ordered a bluetooth headset from them because it appeared to be a good price.
Shipping was an awful experience - took almost 2 weeks, and they used an untrackable "UPS Innovations" system whereby UPS first picks it up, then delivers to the USPS, at which point it's untraceable.
Customer service to help me track it was worthless ... they had to ask me every single thing about me, my order number, my address, etc, and still couldn't tell me anything.
The unit arrived without any earbuds to fit the piece to your ear because it was apparently an "OEM" package instead of a "Retail" package, but there was no indication of what this difference meant on the order page.
Upon calling customer service about this, they wouldn't send out any ear buds, they wouldn't take the unit back, they wouldn't do anything to make the unit useable for me.
I will never shop with ecost again.

Terrible customer service. It took 2 hours and 5 phone calls to ensure that my products will be delivered. Everyone on the phone was rude and not willing to help. I purchased a Logitech remote control on Sun. 5/9/210 AM and paid via PayPal which paid ecost instantly and according to ecost's on website states if purchased on a Sat or Sun it will ship the next business day. That didn't happen it shipped on Tues 2 business days. The shipping charge by ecost for a less then 1# item was $11.47 which is way to much for less the standard UPS shipping as ecost uses BASIC and charges for 2 day delivery. I tracked it all the way. It was shipped from Memphis, TN. and I am in IN. It was passed to my local post office today and I called them and it won't be delivered until tomorrow 5/14/2010 PM. What a scam with their shipping charges which delays the delivery. With any of their competitors the same route I would have had it on 5/11/2010 by noon at less then half the shipping charge. I called ecost customer service and got no where and I asked to speak to a supervisor and was on hold for 20 mins. before I finally hung up. NO I would not recommend ecost. |

Awful! I ordered a Cherry Compact keyboard. I am a software developer and make my living with the keyboard so this is an important tool for me. They advertised the keyboard as having a PS/2 type connector but the connector on the item I recieved does not fit any PS/2 input on any computer I have seen. Also, the photo showed the keyboard as black but the one I received was white and beige. The small print did list the actual color, so they get away with that but I still consider their listing to be misleading. In any case, the connector problem means the keyboard is useless to me. The item they sent was not as advertised and they have simply stonewalled my attempts to resolve the matter. Every phone call and email is answered with a promise of a reply within 72 business hours. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ECOST.COM I first called Ecost.com (1-877-888-2678) on 4/12/2010 to verify that the items were indeed in stock like their website showed. I talked with a representative and he assured me that they were in stock. I called back the same day and placed an order over the phone. I ordered a Digital Sound Projector-Black part # YMH YSP-5100BL and a Pedestal Stand for TV/Soundbar part # YMH YTS-T500. I was told the items were in the warehouse and would be shipped out within the following two days. I received an email with my order information. I waited approx. five days and called Ecost.com to check on the status of my order. The representative told me that the order has been cancelled because Ecost.com no longer stocks the item. I did not receive an email notification or anything. When asked why they no longer stock the item I was told that it was obsolete. The manufactures release date for this item was January 2010. I placed an order with eCost for a 24" 1080p LCD Samsung Television after purchasing several items from them in the past that I still use with no problems. I assumed that the shipping would be quick, and that the merchandise that I had ordered would be in good working condition upon receiving it. My first problem was that after selecting next day shipping, it still took 5 days to ship during which I received no notification until the day it arrived. As per their instructions with ordering televisions, I ensured that the packaging was secure and not damaged before signing for it. Everything was fine. I took the TV out and set it up. Within the first few minutes of powering up the unit it began to turn on and off on it's own. I followed eCost's instructions and called Samsung to see if they could assist me. It looks like I'm not going to get any help from them, seeing as the unit's Serial number shows that the warrantee expired 2 months before I purchased it. Ugh. |

I'd find a product then click on it and have to search through a whole long page to locate the item to purchase. Should take me directly to the product on the page. Also bought a tv with free shipping and free offer of dvd ($35)after rebate. But when I added the dvd to my order I was charged $48! shipping instead of free shipping so of course I didn't order it.
